The Spa at the Atlantis Casino Resort is a world apart. Featuring a fullservice salon that promotes wellness, the Spa Atlantis is a place to relax and indulge the senses, rejuvenate the mind and body. For locals of northern Nevada, it is an opportunity to take refuge from the everyday stress of the world.

On our anniversary, my husband and I took full advantage of the Spa experience. First the circular indoor pool greeted me with a balmy water temperature in the 80's. Next I was given a one-size fits all robe, sandals and a locker.

The Spa Atlantis has a full ray of amenities that are almost to many to write about. The Day Spa features an Aqua Spa Lounge, Laconium Relaxation Lounge, Brine Inhalation Therapy Lounge, and Cardio Theater & Fitness Center. There are also packages for couple’s who want to experience massage therapy, aromatherapy massages, and masks, together. There are also pedicures, and body wraps.

ures 3 pools. One pool has a temperature set at 102, another at 106 and the last is the cool pool for cold dipping. The Jacuzzi pools combine muscle relaxing jets designed to refresh tired muscles and relax the body. Cold water invigorates and strengthens the immune system.

I pull up a lounge chair, grab a cold compress and/or cucumbers for the eyes, drink some special water and yes, relax. Spa Treatments.

There are day-trippers, a blend of seniors and women of all ages. If you sign up for a massage, scrub or facial, you have a choice of rooms to wait in to be called.

The massage is an hour to 90 minutes of pure relaxation. One can select the Traditional Swedish Massage, Target Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Aromatherapy Massage, Hot Stone Massage, and Pre Natal/Post Natal Massage. I am almost asleep when the therapist taps me gently, this phase is done and it's time to move on. I partake of some healthy treats while I wait for my facial.

The Aqua Spa Lounge feat
I am called again. The corridor leads to another room. My eyes are closed but I can feel the 20 or so products that are being placed gently on my face. Every so often a hot towel covers my skin. I am thoroughly pampered and actually tired after 2 hours of pampering. Spa Treatments include Pantal Luar, Organic Brown Sugar Scrub-Gentle Exfoliation, Detoxifying Sea Salt Scrub, and the Hydrating Sugar Polish.

Decision time. Do I shower or go back to the room. Each shower contains exotic shampoo, conditioner, shaving cream, and body lotion plus there is an array of hair products beckoning to be tried.

In addition, other amenities that include: opulent treatment rooms, Rasul ceremonial chambers, the Hammon Wet Table, the Weightless Floatation Soft- Pack-System, indoor atrium pool, year-round outdoor Whirlpool, seasonal outdoor pool and sun deck, herbal steam and cedarwood sauna, and tea lounges.

After a full day at the Spa Atlantis, I am almost too relaxed to get ready for dinner. The Atlantis gives you choices of restaurants. Yes, the food is excellent and the dessert is served on a plate with the words Happy Anniversary in chocolate. Did I mention the room?
